Financial Position

Funding Activities

• Table Top Sale on 16th September raised £370. Thanks go to Denise for her work in organising this event.
   
• Sale of Cards - Dawn Hoskins' latest efforts in selling cards has contributed £300 to the funds . Thank you Dawn.
   
• Raise The Roof - A special mention goes to the Friendly Circle for a total contribution of £1,100 to Raise The Roof. £550 since the last Newsletter. There have also been many individual contributions. One such contribution was recently received from the daughter of George Ellis. George was a regular attendee to the Church in the 1960's and the present communion jug and chalice were bought in memory of George. Thanks go to all who have donated money recently.
   
• T-shirts - Dawn Martin still has a number of T-shirts left for sale.
   
• 'Christmas Taster Lunch' - 4th November - more details to follow.
   
• Lottery - At last the new Big Lottery Fund for Community Buildings was launched on 12th July.
   

My thanks go to John Harrison, Roger Harrison and Rosalind Scott for being co-opted onto the Committee to help with the Lottery application.

The application will be in two stages and we are aiming to submit for stage one before the end of November 2006. if we are successful at this stage we will be informed after approximately 6 months. More about this stage two will be revealed if and when we are successful through to this round.

The system for lottery application is very prescriptive. The bad news is that there are over 100 pages of guidance notes and over 50 pages to fill in for the stage one application itself. The good news is that we have done a lot of the ground work by getting a business plan drawn up, meeting the various groups and people who could help us, advertising our project within the community and obtaining planning and building permissions. A lot of hard work has been put in by many people to date and I am really encouraged by all who have been ready to help out when asked. Thank you.

Finally, I would just like to how grateful I am for all the help that has beengiven to date, whether by donating money or being involved in the committee or in the various activities. I am especially thankful for those who have organised special events. And I would ask EVERYONE to consider wether they could organise a new event to raise funds as at present there are very few new ones in the pipeline. If you do think you can help in this matter please let me know.
