Items of food given for the Harvest display will be donated to the Salvation Army for the homeless. Money given will be passed on to the BMS Higher Ground Appeal. Denise has copies of the Church Harvest Magazine available. As part of the Church Outreach it was decided at the Church meeting to invite Ian Knox, an evangelist from Forty:Three Trust to join us in the first week of January to actively be involved in all our activities as well as inviting people from the neighbourhood. To tell us more about this, Ian will be taking both services on 14th October as well as meeting with the leaders of the organisations to agree how he can work alongside them. There will be a Building Project Coffee Morning held on 27th Oct, which will be arranged by Joan Taylor. Due to the huge success of last weeks Table Top Sale there will be another one held on the same day. For more information see Denise or Joan. Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal service - Sunday 18th November. Anyone is invited to bring along their filled shoebox when a special service will be held. Leaflets available from Denise. The Christmas Fayre is to be held on Saturday, 24th November. Thanks to Jane and Rose who have once again offered to co-ordinate the event. Would you like to help? Many of you will remember Madge Tweddle, Madge was one of the oldest members of the Church and, until about 5 years ago, worshipped with us on a regular basis. Madge died in March of this year and her wishes were that she leave a bequest to the Church. We are now in receipt of this money. The recent Church Meeting agreed that this money be held in a separate deposit account until a decision is taken by the Church as to how we utilise it. |
