November 2007

Congratulations to the Friendly Circle who are celebrating their 40th birthday this month. There will be a photo display in the Church as well as other events to mark the event. Dawn has more information.

Pupils from Harton Junior School will be visiting the Church this week to find out more about us and will provide an opportunity to promote our Sunday Club.
Parents - Sunday Club meets every Sunday from 10.45 - 11.45 am for Bible stories, craft drama and fun! We'd love to see any children from 3+.

Items for inclusion in Christmas issue of the Church Magazine are to be handed to Denise by 11th November.

The Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal will be held on Sunday 18th November at 10.45am. If you would like to fill a box please speak to Denise. We even have wrapped boxes available.

The Interim Church Meeting is on Thursday 22nd November at 7.30 pm.

The Christmas Fayre is on Saturday 24th November this year.
If you have not offered your help and would like to, please speak to Jane or Rose. The Fayre is open to the public from 1 pm.

The Samaritans Purse Christmas Card Scheme will be in operation again this year. If you would like to take part in this project, this is how it works - one Christmas Card is written to the fellowship (which will be displayed in the Church) and the money you would have spent on sending cards to everyone is donated to Samaritans Purse to buy items such as:-.

  • £5 could buy 10 trees that could be planted in communities where they can be used to improve livelihoods and the local environment
  • £5 could purchase a pair of chickens for one family to use. Chickens can help provide families with an income through selling eggs and meat as well as providing a good source of nutrition and protein
  • £9 could buy a child's school uniform and the materials needed for an entire year
  • £10 could ensure an orphan or vunerable child gets to a clinic or hospital
  • £15 could help turn on the tap to give a family of five access to a bore hole
  • Alternatively, the Christmas Post Box will be available. Donations in lieu of postage to Baptist Missionary Society/Home Mission.
