Tabernacle News
January 2007 Edition
"A new year is unfolding-like a blossom with petals curled tightly
concealing the beauty within.
Lord, let this year be filled with the right things that
are truely good-with the comfort of warmth in our relationships, with the strength to help
those who need our help and the humility and openness to accept help from others.
As we make our resolutions for the new year ahead, let us go forward with great hope that
all things can be possible-with your guidance."
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Christmas Card Scheme which gives donations to Samaritans Purse. This year's donations totalled £285 and have been allocated to the following projects:
You may be interested to know that this scheme began at Christmas 2000 and since that time a total of just over £2000 has been raised.
Raise The Roof currently stands at £8,827.
Have you got any new ideas for fundraising?
Have you any unwanted Christmas Gifts? Why not give them to the Church to sell at a future Building Project event. Denise will be happy to take them off your hands.
During 2006 Dave Hoskins raised £1,267 from the sale of jam and of ginger wine with £500 being donated to the Building Fund and £767 to Church funds via the Christmas Fayre. Dave would like to thank everyone for their support and he trusts that you will continue to support his efforts.
Recycle your Christmas cards at ASDA in support of a project to supply wind-up radios to Africa. Recycling facilities also available at WH Smith and Tesco.
Dates for your Diary:
