Tabernacle News
February 2005
The main item of information this month is to remind everyone of the Church Annual General Meeting which is taking place on Thursday 3rd March at 7.30pm.
I announced last week that we have 6 vacancies on the Diaconate. This
consists of Brenda, Pat and myself who are coming to the end of our current 4 year office and
Christine who is resigning from the position, due to health issues. We are grateful to
Christine for her service given to the diaconate over the past 3 years.
Last Sunday Graham's message included encouragement to the Church to seek God's help in
sourcing new leadership within the Diaconate.
Let me remind you of the procedure to nominate someone as a Deacon. The nomination must be
in writing with a signed seconder and handed to Graham by Sunday 13th February. It is
suggested that you speak to your nominee to seek approval for their name to be put
forward.
Nominees must be over 18 years old and have been a member of this church for at least two
years.
The agenda for the Church meeting will be available on Sunday 27th February. If you would like to attend the meeting but need transport please speak to Graham or myself.
The final total donated to the BMS Relief Fund to assist in the South East Asia Disaster was £1004.71 which included £133.41 gift aid. Many thanks to all who gave to this cause.
A Building Fund Coffee Morning has been arranged for Saturday 19th February. 9.30 -11.30 a.m.
Items for inclusion in the Easter edition of the magazine to Denise by 6th March.
