October 04 Edition

On Saturday 16th October Westoe Road Baptist are holding a Church Quiet Day, which will be led by the Rev. Jennie Price, and will focus on the theme of Communion. It will be between 10.00 and 3.00 and friends from other churches are invited. The cost includes buffet lunch and refreshments. If you would like to attend please ring Roz Wilkes.

Father Tony Cornforth will be celebrating 25 years in the Catholic Ministry in November. To celebrate this, a special service will be held at St. Bede's on Wednesday 3rd November at 7.00pm. All are welcome.

Items of food given for the Harvest Display will be donated to The Salvation Army for the homeless. Money will be passed on to the BMS Harvest Appeal to help create new beginnings in Afghanistan.

October 9th is the Building Fund Table Top Sale. Stallholders will be able to set up from 8.45 a.m. Doors open at 9.30 a.m.

Our Girl guide unit is celebrating their 90th year next month and there will be a special service on the morning of the 7th November. If you have any photos or items relating to the Guides that could be used to form a display, please speak to Kathleen Flockhart.

Items for inclusion in the Christmas edition if the Church Magazine should be handed to Denise by Sunday 14th November.

The Christmas Fayre is to be held on Saturday, 20th November. Would you like to help? See Jane or Rose.

Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Appeal service - Sunday 21st November. Anyone is invited to bring along their filled shoebox when a special service will be held. Leaflets will be available explaining the do's and don'ts. Ask Graham for more information.
