February 2004
I am sure everyone is pleased with the renovation of the Church floor - to those who have been associated with the Church for many years I am sure it brings back memories of how it once looked. Many have commented on the stairs leading to the stage and how they look so out of place against the new floor. Having spoken to Iain Jack about the possibility of having them renovated the deacons are currently considering the situation. I have also met with an associate of Iain's to discuss the ongoing maintenance of the floor, and the diaconate will also be discussing this at their next meeting.
The Church Annual General Meeting this year is to be held on Thursday 4th March at 7.30pm. One of the items on the agenda will be the election of deacons to the diaconate. We do not have any retiring deacons this year. However I have received Alan Browns resignation from the diaconate. Alan feels that it is time to step down. thank you Alan for all your support and service over the years. We will therefore have 2 vacancies on the diaconate. If you would like to nominate a Church member to the diaconate please hand a nomination letter with a seconder to me by Sunday 22nd February. Nominations must be over 18 and have been in Church membership for at least two years.
