As this month is the main holiday season when we all enjoy a rest from the yearly activities, can I wish all those going on a holiday a relaxing and enjoyable time.
You will recall that the diaconate met with a minister in mid July to discuss his ministry and the pastorate at Marsden Road. However, after prayer and discussion the diaconate agreed that he was not the person for our fellowship. We are now in contact with another minister and the Rev Ernie Whalley also has some names in reserve should we require them.
Remember the children's holiday club which commences on Monday 31st July for a week. Approximately 35 children will attend to learn about the gospel in a fun environment, which will be led by Paul Willmott.
The Gift Day total was £1,196.09 and, in addition, £289.80 will be claimed via Gift Aid. This money will be used to repair the manse roof and refurbish the bathroom.
Two building fund events will take place in September - a coffee morning on Saturday 16th and a BBQ evening (date to be arranged -see Alan Turnbull for more details).
