A special thank you to all who attended the farewell evening for Stephen, Liz and the children on the 13th of May. I am sure that they will always remember South Shields by the memories they will recall when looking at the two prints which were presented to them. Joan Taylor would like to thank those who assisted in the catering and washing-up after the supper.
Thank you to Rose, Pat, Dianne, Dawn and Joan Fry who, on behalf of the Church, collected £151.00 from the door to door collection for Christian Aid Week.
Sunday, 11th June is Pentecost Sunday and, as in other years, we are holding a joint Pentecost service at 6.OOpm. This will be held at Marsden Road where we will be joined by friends from the Holy Rosary and St Lawrence. The service will be led by Marsden Road and Tony Cornforth will give the word.
Remember that Sunday, 25th June is our Gift bay when we will welcome Peter King NBA Home Mission Co-ordinator to both morning and evening services. The interim Church meeting agreed that the gifts received would be used to refurbish the manse bathroom, repair the tiles on the manse roof and look at a damp problem in the back bedroom. This is an ideal opportunity to get the work completed while the manse is not occupied.
